Premiere Gas Ranges

The choice of ranges is especially important for off-grid applications. Electric ranges have very high power requirements, making them impractical in most off-grid applications. What many people don't realize is that some gas ranges also have significant electrical loads. Some use electronic controls and displays. Many use a glowing electric heating element to ignite the oven. This element can draw as much as 400 watts of power and remains glowing while the oven is turned on. A better approach is to use electric spark ignition to light the burners and oven. This approach avoids the waste and odor associated with pilot lights and requires minimal electrical power for ignition.
